Meet Loki! A young, energetic, gentle and loving Australian Shepherd, Loki is 14-months old and has already had some disappointments in his short life. From the “breeder” that sold him to a family without divulging that he is DEAF, to the family who bought him to try and replace their old dog without knowing what owning an Aussie entails, people have really let Loki down. But he certainly hasn’t let that stop him from LOVING EVERYONE he meets and creating bonds quickly and deeply! It took him under an hour to start seeking us out in the house, which is quite a feat as he has spent his whole life outside in an empty backyard made solely of packed dirt and concrete. He’s still nervous about coming inside a house but he is so smart and with just a bit of coaxing, Loki will do as asked. 

Loki has known love, but not true companionship, therefore we feel he would be best in a home where his family has lots of time (and love!) to give him. He needs training and is a VERY QUICK LEARNER! He is already adjusting to a crate, and walks well on his Easy Walk Harness. Loki needs a person with a calm, patient demeanor who can adjust their training to his hearing impairment. He would also benefit from some doggie friends, as he’s trying so hard to play with dogs he sees and meets! Loki is fine around children and would be okay with cats that will stand their ground as he’s super curious, but not aggressive in the least.  He is a giant puppy with a lot of wonderful Aussie energy. 

Loki is neutered and fully vaccinated.  He will be groomed, tested for heartworm & intestinal parasites, and placed on flea prevention before going to a new home.
