Stella was brought to her now foster home backyard by another cat - Sammy (see his profile on the website as well - big while and black tuxedo kitty). Stella was still a teenager (in kitty years) and, as we later found out, already pregnant.  We kept feeding her every evening until eventually she ended up giving birth to her kittens in our backyard.  Sammy was always very protective of her, and made sure she'd always eat first.  To this day, they are very much bonded.  If they can be adopted together, it would be ideal, but not required.

First, we thought Stella was feral, as she would run away when we'd approach. But just in a couple of days, she'd let us pet her and she'd purr and rub on us, so sweet.  Definitely not feral!  Just a stray, unfortunately.  She started trusting us completely, even with her kittens.  Stella's kittens have all been adopted, and Stella is now spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  Her transition to life indoors was easy -- she's been wonderful!

Stella definitely prefers being indoors, she loves the warmth of humans, the soft blanket or the sun through a window.  She is very good with dogs, and with most cats with proper introduction.  She would also be great as a single cat, or with her good friend Sammy, as she gets very attached to humans.  Stella is careful with new people at first, but once she warms up, she'd follow her humans around the house, asking for chin rubs and she loves the attention! She is very smart as she quickly figured out how to push open some doors (not those that are locked), curtains, where her bed is, when her humans come home, and even what her new name is.

Stella is very affectionate and prefers to be in the same room with her humans at all times.  She has an almost dog-like personality with her attentiveness to humans, and she also loves to cuddle and play.

Stella is about 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, de-worned, de-flead, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Stella is a courtesy listing, so please contact her foster mom directly -- Stella is being fostered in the Moorpark area.  For more information, or to meet Stella, please contact skydotru@yahoo.com.

More about Stella

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

Cats Cradle Rescue animals are spayed or neutered and have received at least one vaccination before they are placed up for adoption; however, kittens receive two vaccinations.  Each animal lives in a foster home as part of the family.

Cats Cradle Rescue requires an adoption application and contract with each animal.  Our adoption fee covers Feline Leukemia and Feline Immuno Virus testing, first year's shots, spay/neuter and microchip.  We also send you home with a collar, CCR tag and starter food.
